Winter

It’s cold and wet outside... and there really is no better place to be than the Moyne Shire.dsc_4514

If donning a wetsuit and enjoying a refreshing dip in the ocean is not your thing at this time of year, why not rug up in a beanie and warm coat and take a refreshing, brisk walk along our beautiful coastline?

The beauty of this time of year in Moyne is our towns are generally quieter, the crowds have dispersed and you can enjoy many of our attractions in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.

The winter months are also a perfect time to enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many eating venues throughout Moyne.

Relax before a roaring fire with a glass of wine before you selected from a variety of menus – Moyne is home to creative cafes, perfect pizzerias, ravishing restaurants (and yes, some of them have received Chef’s Hats in The Age Good Food Guide) and polished pubs.

We can offer you a relaxed country atmosphere, but with all the dining opportunities of our city counterparts. Take your pick from Italian, Chinese, Thai and modern Australian cuisine.

To build up your appetite don’t miss a visit to dormant volcanoes Tower Hill and Mount Eccles, breathe the fresh country air and observe the wildlife as they come out from hiding to feed on the new green shoots the rains have brought.

And make sure you time your winter visit to include one of Port Fairy’s spectacular Winter Weekends.
