Dachshund Dash, the little dogs with the big hearts.

If there's one thing that seems common to Australians it's that we love dogs.    Big and small, working dogs or lap dogs we love them all.    So on the Queen's Birthday long weekend we have one of our favourite events of the year.   It's the Port Fairy Community Bank Dachshund Dash when these cute little dogs with the littlest legs race down to try to claim the winners ribbon.   There are black and tan dogs, short haired, long haired, plain tan, males and females and what they have in common is that they do their very best.  The race gets underway at 11am, Sunday 9 June.  Before that we have the dogs breakfast where owners and their dogs can get together on the Village Green for a bbq breakfast and some games for the dogs and to register.   Registration is $10 per dog. Dogs and owners then walk as a group down to Southcombe Park for the big event.  For all the details on the June Winter Weekend follow this link.
