Contribute to the flock - bird making day
Make a bird and contribute to an exhibition of the TWEET flock that will tour the South West region in 2011.
The project, which wants to re-claim the TWEET, hope to collect 500 handmade textile birds by the end of this year. The "flock" will then take flight in each of the six participating towns for an exhibition. The project is inspired by Gippsland artist Andrea Lane's Twitter 2009 exhibition at Nowa Nowa Gallery, which grew with the spontaneous donations of birds from visitors to the gallery.
South West project participants are Terang and Mortlake Health; Southern Grampians and Glenelg PCP (Hamilton); South West Health (Warrnambool); Moyne Health Services (Port Fairy); The Arts Company (Portland) and Regional Arts Victoria.
Organisers are encouraging anyone to lend a hand and make a bird at the Bird Making Day in Port Fairy in October.
