Our Generation marked start of 2010 Tarerer Festival

A groundbreaking documentary on Aboriginal rights screened on Friday night to mark the start of the 2010 Tarerer Festival.

The documentary film, Our Generation, by Sinem Saban and Damien Curtis told the story of a generation of Aboriginal people from the ongoing controversy of the Northern Territory Intervention, to being forced off their traditional lands into larger townships and crippled by social dysfunction, to their languages being removed from school education, to mining deals sidelining traditional owners. The filmmakers say the Aboriginal people of the Northern Territory are fighting for freedom.

The film screens at the Reardon Theatre from 7pm. Tickets $12/$10
