Historic garden open to public

The sun is set to shine this weekend on the spectacular Union homestead, where hundreds of people are expected to enjoy its picturesque grounds.

Open as a fund-raiser for Warrnambool's Rotary House, the picturesque, historic garden will be open this Sunday, November 21, as part of a Garden Party and Christmas Bizarre.

The well-known property features a beautiful garden and has been recognised for its grounds for decades. The property's previous owners, the late Gwen and Edna Jones, were also generous in allowing their grounds to be used for functions.

Gwen often helped in the garden and it is said the spectacular wisteria climber has grown from a seed which was brought from Japan more than 125 years ago.

The Garden Party and Christmas Bizarre will run from 12pm to 4pm and will include a barbeque, farm tours, Christmas stalls, Devonshire teas and more.

Admission will be $5 for adults, $2 for secondary students and primary school pupils will be admitted free.
