South West Girls Go Surfing

Over 50 girls braved the conditions for the Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day last weekend. Now in its nineteenth year, the Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day is a grassroots program designed to encourage more girls to give surfing a go.

"We are absolutely thrilled to deliver the Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day and would like to thank the fifty or so girls who gave surfing a go," said Go Surf Schools Keith Curtain.

Surfing is amongst the nations most popular sports with roughly 2.4 million Australians who surfed at least once throughout the year. "Surfing is a whole of lifetime sport and is a national icon that truly deserves its place alongside our other great past times like cricket, football and netball," said Mr Curtain.

"The current women's world champion Stephanie Gilmore(Kingscliff, NSW) is a fantastic role model for young women and an ambassador for the Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day, who knows maybe the next World Champion could come from one of the South West's beautiful beaches".

GO Surf and Stand-up Paddle (SUP) School will be operating everyday throughout January 10am and 1pm and SUP at 4pm or by phoning 0408310001. Christmas gift vouchers available.
