Australian Welsh Male Choir confirmed for Port Fairy's June Winter Weekend festival

Australian Welsh Male ChoirThe Winter Weekends Committee is pleased to announce that the Australian Welsh Male Choir (AWMC), a choir of some 50 singers, will perform in the St. John's Anglican Church on the afternoon of Sunday 12th June starting at 2pm. The concert will run for approx. 2.5 hours with interval.

The concert by the AWMC is part of their fundraising tour to raise funds to send the Choir to the Manchester in the UK to take part in a world-wide gathering of Welsh Male Choirs. Part of the proceeds of the concert will be donated to a local charity / cause. The choir has previously performed at Portland and Warrnambool with great success as well as many other Australian towns. They will perform at Mt. Gambier before coming to Port Fairy on 12th June.

Planning for the concert is still in the early stages and ticket sales for the concert will be announced soon. Tickets will be sold through the Visitor Information Centre and it is expected that the initial allocation of 200 tickets will sell quickly. Winter Weekends Coordinator, Harry Bracegirdle, said he was pleased that the Winter Weekends Committee has been able to bring such a concert to Port Fairy and add to what will be a very exciting Winter Weekends program on the long weekend in June.

Further details on the AWMC can be found on their website at www.auswelshmalechoir.org.au
