Good craic for St Patrick's Day in Koroit
Monday, 14 March 2011 00:00
Mickey Burke's Hotel in Koroit draws a "grand" crowd for St Patrick's Day each year, and 2011 will be no exception, with live music and entertainment planned for the annual Irish festival.
Koroit's Irish heritage makes the historic village an ideal place to celebrate St Patrick's Day, which is a precursor to the Koroit Irish Festival held annual at the end of April.
For those seeking true Irish immersion spend the day exploring the historic town on the Heritage Trail before settling in for an evening of Irish music, dancing and entertainment.
The lineup at Mickey Burke's this year includes local trio Tommy, Tuddy and Mick, the Rusty Bucks and Warrnambool Irish Folk Bank The Kilmurphy's, though spur-of-the-moment performances by enthusiastic locals and visitors are a traditional fixture.
