Fall of the Roman Umpire - this week!
Monday, 11 April 2011 00:00
The Warrnambool Entertainment Centre's 2011 Theatre Season is on the road, with the play Fall of the Roman Umpire showing in Port Fairy and Mortlake this week.
The WEC is "all packed up and ready to show", with events happening in regional centres while the Warrnambool venue is closed for rennovations.
Fall of the Roman Umpire shows at the Lecture Hall in Port Fairy on Wednesday, April 13 from 8pm, and at the Soldiers Memorial Hall in Mortlake on Thursday, April 14 from 8pm.
Written and performed by Dennis Coard, this auto-biographical play depicts his early life in Ireland, emigration to Australia and his young adulthood as a Telecom technician before “throwing away a good career” to go to drama school at age thirty-five. Dennis’ play is witty, poignant and hilarious.
Best known for his ongoing role as Tom in Home and Away, Dennis Coard has performed on stage, screen and film for many years including numerous shows with the Melbourne Theatre Company.
“... this is a charming and cheeky one man show ... his characters are delightful and believable and his Irish accent is flawless... Coard is a consummate comic performer.” - Kate Herbert, Herald-Sun
Suitable for the whole family, tickets are only $20.00 with concessions available. Call 03 555 94 999
