Babette's Feast - A Feast for all the senses.

As a fundraiser for the coming Port Fairy Festival of Words the committee presents the acclaimed Danish film, Babette's Feast.

The story is set in a 19th century Danish coastal town, Babette, a French refugee is housekeeper for the elderly daughters of the towns minister.   They have forsaken their chance at romance and fame to serve their father and their town.   On the occasion of their dead father's centenary Babette's Feast my well allow the older ladies to have a second chance at life.

"this literate and lovely-to-look-at film compels us to meditate upon the needs of the flesh and the needs of the spirit.   It is also about choices, talent, gratitude, friendship, grace and hope."   4 1/2 star

Tickets are $15 per person, on sale at the Visitor Informtion Centre and the cost includes a chicken and champagne supper.
