7th: Panmure Bush Racing Day
Enjoy a great day of quarter-horse sprint racing in a relaxed, family picnic atmosphere at Panmure, 15-kilometres east of Warrnambool.
8-14th: Commonwealth Sheepdog Trials, Port Fairy
20th: Mortlake Music Festival
This annual event showcases the musical talent of the surrounding district and will this year include 40 bands and artists on four stages, feature country, blues, rock, Irish and gospel influences. There are stalls, karaoke, buskers, street theatre, carnival rides, children’s entertainment and more. Further information can be found at the event’s website, www.mortlakemusicfestival.com.au
25th - 27th: Hawkesdale 150th
Hawkesdale celebrates its 150 year anniversary with an Art Exhibition at the Hawkesdale Memorial Hall on Friday night, with cheese and wine tasting. Other events over the weekend include a Grandparents Day at the Hawkesdale P12 College and a town festival on the Saturday with a street parade, kite making and flying, market stalls, horse and cart rides around the historical trail, open day at the P12 College, Historical Society and Family Services Centre, wood carving, olden cars, caricature drawings, music and devonshire teas. A celebratory dinner will be held in the Saturday evening, and on Sunday a community BBQ will be held in the town centre.
