1st-31st: Second annual Biblio-Art competition art exhibition
This competition culminates in a fabulous book inspired art exhibition, with competing artists (amateur, emerging and professional) local, regional and from further afield. First prize is being judged by Melbourne's altered book artist, Nicholas Jones, and regional identity, Gareth Colliton. This exhibition will run until September.
1-4th: Fun 4 Kids, Warrnambool
3rd: Lake School Launch and Winter Workshop
From midday at the the Crossley Hall and later at Mickey Bourke's Koroit Hotel.
The day will begin at midday with a free introduction to the Irish language by Chris Mooney, followed by the Winter Workshop Program - singing, fiddle and Irish language with Maria Forde, Ewan Baker and Chris Mooney. Lunch and afternoon tea at Crossley Hall will be The Friends of St Brigids at a nominal cost. Workshops cost $10 (covers singing, fiddle and the follow up Irish language class). The program launch will be held at Mickey Bourke's Koroit Hotel from 6.30pm. This will include the induction of Ewen Baker as a Legend of the Lake by Shane Howard, a performance by Paddy O'Neill Ward Band - Shanachie, the induction of Leamon Chambers as a life member of the Lake School, and a mighty session. Admission to the launch will cost $25.

3-4th: Winter Weekends festival - Port Fairy in Sepia
All that is old made new again. History, heritage and genealogy coloured with music and comedy events.

4th: Screening of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang
A St Patrick's Primary School, Port Fairy, fund-raiser. Screens 2pm at Port Fairy's Reardon Theatre. Tickets available from the school and the door.
9-10th: Geoparks conference

16th: Screening of Brothers at Port Fairy's Reardon Theatre
When a Marine Captain (Toby Maguire)goes missing in Afghanistan, his brother(Jake Gyllenhaal), just released from prison, takes care of his brother's family. A fine drama by Jim Sheridan. Screens at 7.30pm. (M, 104 minutes).
30th: St Kilda Short Film Festival
A program in two parts: 16 of the best short films for 2010. MA15+.
