11-14th: Port Fairy Folk Festival

The world-famous Port Fairy Folk Festival is a renowned independent music festival held each March. More than 30,000 people attend and world-famous musicians vie to perform at The Folkie, which in 2010 featured 100 national artists and more than 20 international performers. The four-day festival is a literal smorgasbord of talent, with world roots, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, acoustic rock and jazz music. The festival – which has taken out three consecutive Australian Tourism Awards and the Hall of Fame Award – is a sell out event, so make sure you get your tickets early by contacting the festival office.
