The Port Fairy Spring Music Festival is a unique classical music weekend held on the second weekend in October each year. Concertspfsmf01 of one hour's duration are held in Port Fairy’s historic venues, all within walking distance of the town centre. Performances feature music of the great European composers, plus new works by Australian contemporary composers. Music theatre, jazz and dance are included in a broadly appealing program.

For her first Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, Artistic Director Anna Goldsworthy celebrates 2010 as a year rich in anniversaries.  She invites you into a Parisian salon to commemorate the two hundredth anniversary of Chopin and also presents the anniversaries of Schumann and Mahler in unique festival collaborations. The Festival also features dance, cinema, a fifteen-piece brass ensemble, and the opportunity to ‘sing your own musical’, in a diverse and unique program.

The full program will be available in late July, but keep up to date with news of the Festival and information on Port Fairy and accommodation by visiting www.portfairyspringfest.com.au or contact the Festival on 5568 3030. The 2011 dates are October 14-16.
